Do you really want...do you really want me...? Do you really want me dead? Or alive to torture for my sins?
The song played gently from her earphones as Muse sought solace from her crazy family in the room she shared with her sister, Sammael. Mom was going a bit nuts from those pesky pregnancy hormones, and Muse didn't want to be a part of it. It was Sammie's job to deal with mom when she got like this. Just like she'd dealt with it when mother-dearest had been pregnant with her. Muse's lips twitched in a small, amused smirk. She secretly hoped her mother had given Sammael hell, though Sammie would've only been around...5? 6? She still would've been small and adorable. Muse couldn't fathom a time that Sammael was ever adorable.
No, that was a joke. Really, Sammael had always had the looks out of the two. While Muse was rather plain, which suited her just fine, Sammael was absolutely beautiful, like their mother. It was an unearthly sort of beauty that it didn't seem anyone could place their finger on. Dad claimed it came from his good looks, but Muse always thought their mother looked more appealing. It was an interesting question to debate in her supernatural family. Angels were a thing of beauty, but what of their opposite?
What troublesome questions, Muse thought, and unplugged the small headphones from her ears. Actually, this was all rather boring. It was best to hide out in the city rather than in a small room. The family of four--soon to be five--lived in an apartment. Really, it felt like only three lived here most of the time. Dad was a busy archangel. Those rare moments he could stick around were more often spent with their mother, which made sense. Muse just wished she could see him just a tad more. She and Sammie were obvious daddy's girls. It was painful. If the new child became the same way, then dad was screwed.
Muse threw the ipod on her bed and sauntered out of the room. Her mother was not far off, cleaning. It was a habit of hers when she was getting close to giving birth, at least, this is what Sammael and dad both claimed. Muse figured she was seeing it in action by the looks of her mother's rounded belly.
"I'm going out for a while," Muse said as she pulled a jacket on. "I'll be back in a bit, k? Don't miss me too much." She smirked playfully as her mother looked up at her with curious, black eyes. She knew her mother worried, but Muse didn't see anything to be worried about. It wasn't like she was going outside to scream at the world she was Nephilistic. Though, she knew that was her mother's worst fear.
Her mother shifted with an unwilling expression. She didn't want Muse to go. "Be careful. If you need anyone, you know you can call for your father and he'll come. He's much faster at answering pleas for help then I am." With that, she turned back to her cleaning and began to mutter about how it was still filthy and needed to be redone. Yeah, it seemed like what Sammael and dad said was very much true. Muse shook her head and gave a small wave before fleeing out the door. She didn't want Sammael to skip in and volunteer to accompany her. Her sister had enough luck to draw anything bad to them as soon as her foot was out the door. Honestly, her sister could raise some hell.
The day was decent, considering the temperature was slowly getting colder. Muse was already thinking about what she'd ask for Christmas. She liked to ask for the most ridiculous things to mess with her parent's minds. One time she asked for a Russian bear balancing on a ball and juggling bottles of vodka. It'd made her father laugh. Her mother, on the other hand, was a tad more of a serious individual. Muse wondered if she would ever lighten up. All things considering, Muse felt like it was going to be a nice walk around the city.

y o u w e r e m y c o n s c i e n c e.SO SOLiD, NOW YOU'RE LiKE WATER. AND WE STARTED DROWNING NOT LiKE !WE'D SINK ANY FARTHER. BUT I LET MY HEART GO; IT'S SOMEWHERE DOWN AT THE BOTTOM.New York City. The place of life, lights, and fashion. New York is an intriguing place, so to say. Down each alley way you had a homeless person begging for your help, or thugs who think they are the only ones who are dangerous in this thriving city. Ah, but that is where they are wrong. Creatures beyond your imaginations like to hibernate in this huge city. Their not here for friendships, or jobs. Their for blood.
Katherine thought that as she walked down the shadowing streets. She could write a book. She chuckled inwardly knowing that she has lived many decades and could write a whole dictionary of story from what she experienced. because she was there for everything. She's lost track of how long she's actually been walking the earth. she was born back in the 1400's, but she hated doing the math.
She ran her hand along the sides of a decaying building, feeling sorry for it, because unlike it, she gets to stay young and beautiful forever. Sure she had her differences about being a vampire, like the bloodlust and watching everyone she has ever cared about die. She gazed at the round, oval shaped black amethyst on her finger, it had engravings of roses on the sides of it, making it an antique of time. Her mother had made it for her before Katherine became a vampire, and she had a spell casted for it by a witch, none the less, that made her walk the daylight hours. As head vampiress now, every vampire that comes to her begging to walk during the sun, has to go through her to get a ring. Vampires have an alliance with the witches and warlocks, thanks to her mother, If the Head Vampire or Head Witch find out another witch has casted a spell for the vampires to walk the sun without permission, then they will both be burned alive. It's happened so many times before. They never learn their lesson.
She glanced at the sky and watch the sun start to set, the mystifying colors of purples, blues, pinks and oranges light the sky like an art piece only Leonardo could skillfully manage. Something started to burn at the base of her throat, a fire that was impossible to put out, unless you had blood. Katherine knew she had to feed, it been since dinner last night did she last feed. Feeling empowered, she hide herself in an alley way from watchful eyes and started Ascending up the building, in a matter of seconds was she at the top and perched to where she can watch and wait. Her high heeled boots scrapped the decaying rooftop. Not many people roamed these roads. They were all in the center of the city. But Katherine always found the best out here. The fire spread through her whole body, itching, scratching to be tamed. Katherine didn't know how long she could last, so she just picked one.
There was a nice looking business man making his way quickly down the streets, eyes darting every witch way for thugs to jump out an minute and attack him. He'll have to do. She stood and leaped off the building behind him, silent as a cat did she prowl behind him. She placed a hand on his shoulder and he about jumped out of his skin and dropped his cellphone. Katherine caught it under her foot and picked it up, handing it out to the man. "Uhh, thank you ma'am." she took it back and Katherine could feel his pulse jump when she lightly touched his hand. Her brown eyes flashed up to his and she smile so warmly but did not say a word, "Are you lost? because a girl like you shouldn't be out on this part of town." She chuckled and shook her head, "I can take care of myself. But i could use an escort back to the city? and one more thing," she paused and looked deep into his eyes, compelling him she said, "you will not remember me, and you will forget any of this ever happened," with that she grabbed his wrist firmly and drug him into a dark alley, shoved him against the wall and whispered, "I'm just so hungry" She smiled and bit into the hollow of his neck, the blood felt warm and tangy on her tongue, she could feel the blood slip down her throat and into her stomach. She had him to the point to where he was passed out. But she didn't suck him dry. It was against vampire laws. But she enjoyed her meal for the night. It was a clean one too. She wiped her mouth and breathed deeply, leaving the man on the ground and exited the alley. A smirk played on her face.

So, New York wasn't exactly the most normal place in the world. Humans always said that New York held multiple ethnicities...what about the supernatural? Muse saw that humans liked to deny what was right in front of their face. The things that go bump in the night were dangerous to them, and so they denied they existed. It was a funny thing to observe. Muse couldn't help but laugh at their denial when she could be their living proof. She wasn't due to the fact her mother would massacre her. They were so confined in terms of their heritage. Her mother may not have minded coming off as a human, but Muse and Sammael both itched to use their abilities...and they did. Sammael liked to buy clothes...she often made the prices much cheaper than normal. Muse, well, she liked to mess with the commonfolk.
A little prank every now and then wasn't going to harm anyone...except maybe the one being pranked. Muse could have a dangerous sense of humor. She liked to pray on those who needed their just desserts. School was a breeding ground for these people. Muse couldn't count how many idiots she'd weeded out for multiple reasons. Cheating, whether on a person or test, druggies, and they all were her victims. Granted, she only liked to play with humans. Muse didn't so much toy with the supernatural. They could get very pissy.
The girl turned a corner just in time to see an older woman leave a dark alley. She didn't look too much older; in appearance she looked about Sammael's age. It was not true. She was much older than Sammael and Muse, and a vampire at that. Her first thought was a normal woman having a good time with her boyfriend in a strange, but not uncommon, place. Now she was sure someone had just become a snack. What did she care? Muse didn't have much sympathy for victims of vampires, werewolves, or any other creature. There was this interesting theory called "Survival of the Fittest". Humans were just on the bottom of the food chain.
Muse grinned and appeared next to the vampire. She wasn't afraid of her, no. Muse wasn't really afraid of anything except Death. He was a scary creature. "Are you snacking before dinner time? That's pretty naughty. What will your mother say when you come home for dinner and are full?" Her tone was playful and teasing. Muse wasn't a very serious girl. She didn't care much if she were to tease someone older than she. "So, what are you doing on a fine day like this? Well, other than the obvious..." If she was out during this time, then she had to be someone on top, perhaps the top? That would be something interesting to tell mother. 'Oh hey, mom, I met the lead vampire lady. How's that for keeping a low profile?' Right...it'd be better not to tell her mom.

Katherine's boots clanked against the concert sidewalk, cracks zigzagged up and down the old road. She had to admire it's efforts to still look beautiful. She had a keen eye for art, being around for centuries, so stuff like these cracked sidewalks and potholed streets just intrigued her even more. call her odd, but she has always felt comfortable around older things, ancient things, rather than newer and more crisp. Feeling energized all of sudden she could help but grin as the blood sung through her veins. Part of her dreaded going back the Headquarters. Dealing with delusional, rouge vampires and the stenches of the other Supernatural that happen to drift by her office. But this was something her mother always wanted her to have. If her mother had ever died, then Kate would step up and fill the spot. Those damn hunters killed her mother.
Light, and soft footsteps shuffled behind her, approximately 5 feet away. Katherine's ultra sensitive hearing caught the rhythm, whoever it was, was a girl. Young. Unhuman. Kate gritted her teeth and before she could turn around to spy, the girl was on her heels and said, Are you snacking before dinner time? That's pretty naughty. What will your mother say when you come home for dinner and are full? Katherine stopped in her tracks and turned to observe the girl, doing a quick analyses she figured the girl was around Katherine's appearance age, 18. The girl had short, choppy brown hair and was petite. She didn't have the stench of wolf, she wasn't one of the Fae. Part of the girl was human. Katherine felt the essence instantly. nephilim. The corner of her mouth twitched and she replied with a blank face, "That won't be an issue. Because my mother is dead." She said bluntly and started walking on. Nephilim had incredible power, Katherine did not wish to meddle with them.
So, what are you doing on a fine day like this? Well, other than the obvious....
The girl never stopped. Katherine had patience, but not that great of it. She's dealt with kids like her before, several times. "That is none of your concern, Nephilim. You should have better manners than to question an authority.". She said briskly. A cold fall breeze swept through the roads as they started to near the main city. Katherine knew exactly where she was. She wasn't on duty right now, She was done for the day, but she dreaded going home to her apartment. And now she had a girl following her around. lovely.
Katherine rounded the corner and heard it before she saw it. Slurping and screaming, low muffled groans. Vampire, she was certain. Rouge perhaps? Well, this vampire picked the wrong place and time to feed and terrorize a human while the Head Vampiress in earshot. Katherine forgot about the girl and rushed to the scene. Standing at the door of a crumpling building she gently placed her hand on the doornob and twisted, crunching it beneath her palms and watched it fall in heaps to the floor. She kicked the door open to find two vampires latched on to a couple girls. and two were laying on the ground. dead. Katherine gritted her teeth and hissed, "Excuse to be interrupting.." she called and the vampires stopped dead and turned around to confront her, their face streaked with dark blood that dripped down their chins and onto the floor. newborns. she thought bitterly. Who are you? The larger male hissed with malice, katherine didn't even blink, no emotion shown across her face, in a flash she was standing in front of the man, her voice came out cold, low and dangerous. "You are going to put the girls down, My name is Katherine Delacroix, Head Vampriss, and i believe both of you are breaking the code." She frowned and glanced from the girls to the vampires, "Care to explain?." She placed a hand on her hip and waited. The vampires laughed and exchanged glances. Katherine knew of their plan before it crossed their mind. The flashed towards her, one in front and one in back. Katherine didn't even have to touch them, all she did was stare into the man's eyes and instantly he fell to the ground in heaps, screaming and cursing, blood welled from his ears and eyes and his shrill became un human. she cut the line off and before he could regain composure she walked up to him, reached down and ripped his heart straight out of his chest and staked it. He turned into nothing but a pile of dust. she turned around to see the other vampire in shock and he bolted.

"Well, aren't you just in a peachy mood," Muse shook her head. She couldn't stand people who couldn't relax and take a joke. No, actually, she sort of loved those people. She could mess with them until they got super pissed, then vanish. The frustration she caused them was immense and hilarious. "I should've expected you to have no sense of humor." Her lips curled into a devious smirk, "authority? What's that?"
The Nephilim continued to follow her with a feign look of curiosity. Honestly, she was just bored. Muse hadn't anything better to do than to harass a vampire, or any other being she came to meet. Later she could invite Sammie out to a cafe or something, but right now Sammie was busy and mom was on edge. Muse thought about calling for her father, but he was probably busy, too. Everyone was busy. Apparently, so was the vampire...not that Muse cared. She could be quite the pest.
"Nephilim? Oh, you've quite a nose. Then, you must know I'm not that boring run-of-the-mill human and angel kind, right? I'm quite unique, well, almost unique...my sister happens to exist to make me more...secondary..."
It was a bad idea to ramble this off. Why? Well, the vampire could go off and tell an angel. Though, if she were to do that then Muse would be forced to hunt her down with Sammael. The vampire was...well...a vampire, though, so would an angel really believe her without proof? No, probably not. Muse wasn't all that concerned for what she said. There was no way the vampire could prove it unless she, say, kidnapped Muse and presented her straight into an angel's face. Oh...that would be bad. The angels would have a riot over her existence. Humans and angels may have mixed once before...but never...
Well...that wasn't important.
The vampire suddenly took off and Muse saw her confront two newborns. She blinked her blue eyes blankly as the vampire--Kathrine Delacrox, Head Vampriss--killed one and allowed the other to flee. Muse did nothing as it raced past her. Why? Because she was not one to murder, even the supernatural. Besides, leaving the vampire alive could be a good thing. The newborn could spread the word to the others.
"Well, isn't that quite the display of power? I'm sure it quivers in its boots," Muse glanced in the direction the newborn fled once more before stuffing her hands carelessly into her hoodie's pockets. "Kathrine Delacrox? Interesting name...it makes me think of something out of Harry Potter."

So the little wannabe angel saw the whole show. Good. Maybe the girl would figure it out that Katherine is not someone to joke with. She walked around the debree, inspecting the bloody mess. She would have to get someone out here to clean the mess up. She pulled her cellphone out of her pocket and speed dialed Headquarters. She had a special team that worked inside most of the system so they can cover up the deaths of the girls. One was still alive. She was breathing, And it was very faint. Ambulance would be a good idea too. The phone picked up, " Hello Kyle, We've got a mess here on East Walton Dr, two male vampires killed three girls and one is still barely alive, i need an ambulance here, pronto, and a cleanup team for the vampires before the ambulance gets here. Got it? Good." She hung up and slipped the phone into her pocket. She totally forgot about the girl for the moment and moved towards the human lying on the floor. She was coming back. katherine gritted her teeth and knelt beside her.
She stared the girl dead in the eyes and commanded, "You will forget all about vampires, you will explain to the police and paramedics that a rabid dog was respossible for all this ." The girl stared into space for a few seconds before coming back to herself. Katherine heard the team from miles away and figured it would be a mess if they found a Nephilim around. Nephilim were very rare, and alot of the Supernatural are out for thier blood. She got up gracefully and quckly walked over to the girl as she blurted another smart ass comment. Well, isn't that quite the display of power? I'm sure it quivers in its boots," . "Kathrine Delacrox? Interesting name...it makes me think of something out of Harry Potter." The girl irritated her to no possible end.
"Delacroix is a French name, of course you don't know that, because you haven't been around for centuries to know that, your still a mere child." she rebuttled. "By the way, you might want to get out of here because my Cleanup team is coming by in a minute and if the supernatural find out your here in this city, Nowhere will be safe." She suggested as she struted out of the building and out onto the streets of New York. As she passed the van holding all her Cleanup Team she gave a brisk nod to the man in the driver's seat and continued on her merry way. What to do on a fine night in New York City? Well, maybe a club would surfice her urges.

The vamp couldn't take a joke, even on her last name. It was truly one of those moodkillers. She rolled her eyes and sighed. Insults were all she was full of, wasn't she? What a moody creature. Muse tapped her finger lightly against her lips in thought. There were many more people in the world. There was surely someone more worthwhile to talk to. The seriousness was depressing. Where was the humor? It was becoming such a rare thing in life. One could be sued at the drop of a hat. She huffed with disappointment.
"I'm aware it's French. I may be younger than you, but I'm not an idiot. You honestly have to take everything so seriously and to heart, don't you?" The Nephilistic girl glanced toward the girl with an expression bordering pity. Vampires were the least of her problems in this city. This place was crawling with things that go bump in the night. Irritation prickled at her skin. A dangerous smile crossed her lips. "You want me to disappear? Fine, I'll disappear.'
Her hand reached into a pouch tied to her jeans and she pulled out something that resembled a shawl. She dearly loved her Bag of Holding. It could hold things that people wouldn't believe. "Bye-bye." Muse put the shawl about herself, and suddenly she was gone. Well, she wasn't really gone, but invisible and undetectable. Her scent was nowhere, her presence erased, and not even the Gods would be able to locate her. It was useful for being a Nephilim. She decided to stick around and observe. She'd never much cared for vampires, but what else was there to do?

"I'm aware it's French. I may be younger than you, but I'm not an idiot. You honestly have to take everything so seriously and to heart, don't you?"
"What i do is none of your business. Yes, i have to be, because being leader of Vampires is a big responsibility and there is no room for foolishness." She slightly shrugged and went on her way, she heard the pitter patter of the girl behind her. Still following. You want me to disappear? Fine, I'll disappear. Katherine turned on her her heels and before she could even catch a glimpse, the girl had really disappeared. She did not question it, knowing that all Nephilim have incredible power, and incredible blood. Throughout Kat's 300 or more years of living she has tried various Nephilims. They cannot be killed by the supernatural, except Angels and Fallen Angels or God himself. Nephilim always end up wealthy because they sell their blood to the supernatural to have incredible strengh for 24 hours. Even though most of the supernatural already have all the strength they need. But selling Nephilim blood has become illegal by the council. So has selling Vampire blood to humans. Gives the human vampire qualities for the night. Very addictive also.
Katherine felt relieved actually, Maybe the girl had listened and went home. now she wouldn't have responsibility for the child. Katherine twirled on her heels and gracefully walked down the sidewalk with ease in her high heeled boots. Hitting Manhattan She slowed her pace, casually walking by bars and clubs to see if any of her vampire were breaking rules like they so commonly do all the time. Being the Head Vampiress is a hard job, you have to know everyone and everything. You have to deal with vampires in the most unnatural ways, and then there are those out there for your head on a stick. Those damn hunters killed her mother, but they haven't seen the last of the Delacroix bloodline, not yet.
Katherine passed by a small boutique that held unique fashion. Looking in the window she saw Christina, her Godmother. She moved at a slow pace and stepped into the cooled down room, the mixture of clothes and old wood invaded her senses. And then there is the typical, amazing smell of humans. How could she forget?
"Hello Christina, nice meeting you here." she nodded her way, Christina's eyes lit up and she smiled warmly. "Well, well if it isn't Mrs. head mistress, how are you doing, Katherine?" She asked with a silky voice that could make a grown man's knees go weak. Christina is over 500 years old, and still forever stuck at 24. "I've been better. I'm still surprised you didn't take on the role as head Vampire. But i have a new idea for tonight your gonna love ." and with that Katherine smirked inhumanly, her eyes growing dark indicating that the night is only beginning.
