SNAP I rolled my eyes as if in ecstasy, the sound of a neck breaking was music to my ears and a sadistic smile played on my face. I dropped my now dead victim to the floor with a look close to disgust. Humans were so pathetically breakable that it was pitiful! This women had come to me happily, like a lamb to the slaughter house, I had smiled at her and she had walked right up to me. I had left the bar and that whore had followed me like a lustful puppy, she had followed me down an alley where I’d had my fun…. I think she thought we’d be having a different kind of fun. Humans.
Walking away from the corpse I did not look back, someone would find her soon and they will call the police so an investigation could get under way, that didn’t bother me. I’d taken precautions, the CCTV cameras in the bar and street had all been broken by me. And I was fallen, I was more than capable of making people forget things, or planting a different story in some ones mind, the police had been after me for numerous crimes, and they had charged someone different each and every time. I was good at what I did, and that is why I’m the leader of the fallen. A title I had worked hard to achieve.
My hidden wings ached to fly, but something stopped me, while I did not really mind if a few drunkards saw me I was still coming to terms with my wings, no longer the pure white that they had once been, now a shade grey black that was given to all fallen to mark them as what they are. When I saw them I was reminded of everything I’d done. I hated feeling remorse and guilt. So I tried hard to avoid things that would affect me in that way. Easier said than done! Not all of us fallen angels were evil, some fell because they fell in love with a human, some because they couldn’t let go of their humanity and needed to be back on earth more than anything. Some truly were evil. And then there was me, evil but secretly not wanting to be, good but secretly not wanting to be. God I was messed up!
Shrugging, I walked back into the street, the moon was the only source of light as the street lamps weren’t working. Maybe there’s been a power cut? I mused to my self. Suppressing a yawn I turned east towards the park, knowing that I would feel at ease in the trees. Tomorrow I would have to get back to ‘work’. I was running low on funds, that meant I’d either have to convince some well to do human to had over their life savings to me, or rob a bank. The first option was the easiest but the latter certainly would be more fun!

It wasn't easy working in a local bakery. Especially in the great city of New York. Elena had her share in that. Working at her Aunt's Cafe/Bakery kept her busy most of the time. Elena felt at ease while she worked with her hands to create beautiful cakes and cupcakes. Art was one thing Elena was truly gifted in. Even before she became a werewolf. At the though the wooden hand of the spoon broke in half, she didn't realize how much force she was putting onto the spoon, and the mix. it was all over the stove, which she knew she had to clean up as soon as Aunt Cassie comes in and sees what a total klutz Elena was.
She hustled with a bucket of soap and a sponge. The water was warm as she dipped her hand into the bucket and smeared the bubbly substance across the granite surface. She guessed she would have to make a new mix. Lovely. 8:00 came around in a breeze. The late night crowd exited the door as Cassie waved them away and called, "Come see us again!" Elena smiled a small smile, Cassie wasn't a werewolf, she missed that generation, She was human. Lucky bitch. Elena only hoped she would somehow find a way to make her completely human again. But she knew when it came to inheriting the curse, you get no take backs. It is stuck with you for the rest of your life.
Elena said her goodbyes to her coworkers and aunt as she pushed open the small, glass door. The wind chimes whistled as she closed the door behind her. The sun was setting low into the clouds, Night was falling on them rapidly, like someone spilled a bucket of black paint on the surface of a masterpiece. Don't be mistaken, Elena loves the night. it's apart of who she is. But she also loved stargazing. Watching the stars and tracing the constellations with her eyes. It was something that surely got her mind off. . . home matters. It was a half moon tonight, which meant in a couple of weeks she will be a slave to the moon. Killing. Losing her full control completely. Elena could still shift whenever she wanted to, the transition keeps getting easier and less painful. Bitter memories on that subject. She shook the mental images out of her head and breathed in the crisp fall air.
She started walking casually along the sidewalk, stuffing her hands into her hoodie and looked straight down at her feet as she walked. This allowed her to avoid eye contact as much as possible. Before she could even lift her chin to see if she was going to bump into anything, she saw the figure of a man before she slammed right into his arm and toppled to the floor. How embarrassing. Everyone looked around at her as they hushed in silent whispers. Elena frowned. She did not mean for that to happen, quickly coming to register that she had hit someone! Oh god. She looked up to see a man, he had long brown hair and was tall. She scrunched her eyebrows as she silently wondered where she has seen this man before. But the thought was inevitable.
Oh my god, i am so sorry for running into you like that. I feel like an idiot. She tried to play it off by chuckling, but on the inside she was heated with embarrassment.
